Code of Conduct

We invite you to come to TEDxUPLB in a spirit of curiosity, friendliness, open-mindedness, and respect.

We will not tolerate harassment in any form.

 

At a TEDx event, you agree to: 

  • Respect the boundaries of other attendees.

  • Avoid aggressively pushing your own services, products or causes.

  • Respect confidentiality requests by speakers and other attendees.

  • Look out for one another.

These behaviours don't belong at a TEDx event:

  • Invasion of privacy, including taking photos (or requesting selfies) of people you don't know.

  • Being disruptive, drinking excessively, stalking, following or threatening anyone.

  • Abuse of power (including abuses related to position, wealth, race or gender).

  • Homophobia, racism or behaviour that discriminates against a group or class of people.

  • Sexual harassment of any kind, including unwelcome sexual attention and inappropriate physical contact.

If, while at a TEDxUPLB event, you have been involved or have witnessed an incident that violates the Code of Conduct, please approach one of our representatives or email us at tedxuplb02@gmail.com to let key TEDxUPLB managers know immediately. Share as much information as you can to help us make a thorough investigation of the onsite incident.

House Rules

  1. The program will start on time. To avoid distracting the speakers, delegates who shall fail to come on time will not be allowed to enter inside the DL Umali Hall while a speaker’s talk is ongoing. Only after the talk will latecomers be ushered inside.  

  2. Smart casual attire is highly encouraged. Open shoes, mini skirts, jerseys, shorts, backless, plunging necklines, and the like are not allowed.

  3. Wear your delegate ID at all times.

  4. Howling or shouting for the duration of the talks and performances are strictly prohibited. Support for the speakers and performers can be expressed in a more subtle manner. Heckling is also not allowed.

  5. Everyone is encouraged to stay inside the DL Umali Hall for the duration of the talks. Roaming around the premises is not allowed.

  6. Ask any TEDxUPLB team member for any questions about the event. TEDxUPLB team members are wearing black collared polo shirts with an embroidered TEDxUPLB logo in the front and with the word “ORGANIZER” embroidered at the back.

  7. As per compliance with the rules of the DL Umali Hall management, eating inside the hall is strictly prohibited. Food containers and water bottles will be left outside the Hall. Delegates will be asked to occupy the SU Building during the break after the first session.

  8. Video and audio recording of the talks is strictly prohibited. The talks of the speakers will be recorded by the TEDxUPLB team and will be uploaded online. Those who are not part of the team who shall be caught recording the talks will be sanctioned and asked to leave the premises.

  9. Taking selfies/groupies during any of the talks are discouraged. Delegates may have their photos taken personally or through the event’s photo booth located at the DL Umali Hall lobby. Photo taking may be done before and after the event or during the break.

  10. Taking photos with the speakers while the sessions are ongoing is strictly prohibited.

 

TEDxUPLB's commitment 

TEDxUPLB will investigate all incidents reported at an event with discretion and confidentiality. TEDxUPLB reserves the right to bar any person who violates our Code of Conduct from attending TEDxUPLB in its entirety or in part, and/or to cancel the registration of the person without refund.
